Precipitated Silicas & Silicates
What is it?
The high performance silica offered by PCL are used as reinforcing fillers for the rubber industry. Our range of high purity silicas are sold under the tradename PAXSIL®. PCL's precipitated silicas are versatile products used for many applications, from toothpastes, to shoe soles, mechanical rubber goods, to low rolling resistance tires with excellent wet grip and good abrasion resistance, the PAXSIL® line offers a broad range of particle sizes and performance benefits to suit the specific needs of our customers.

PCL’s silicas are amorphous, precipitation-generated products obtained from a process that includes mixing sand and sodium carbonate and baking the mixture to obtain a sodium silicate. After dissolution and dilution, the resulting sodium silicate is neutralized through precipitation with sulfuric acid, which is a significant stage in the production of high performance silicas. A filtration process eliminates by-products. The high performance silicas are thereafter washed, and spray dried, and stored. PCL's participated silicas help reduce vehicle’s fuel consumption as well as CO2 emissions.
